Zoey Esther-Reese Ambali

Zoey Esther-Reese Ambali, age 6 months gained her wings today, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 following a hard fought battle with Edwards Syndrome, Trisomy 18.  She was the daughter of Taryn Rhey Gott and Akwa Ambali.

Visitation will be Monday, September 27, from 5-7 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Clark.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 28, at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Anderson and Worship Leader Jody Peterson officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Face masks are strongly encouraged at the church for visitation and services.

Zoey Esther-Reese Ambali was born March 25, 2021, in Sioux Falls, SD, to parents Taryn (Gott) Ambali and Akwa Ambali.  She was four pounds 2 ounces and 17 ½ inches long.  She spent the first few months of her life in the NICU as she was born with Edwards Syndrome, Trisomy 18. Zoey faced many challenges but was a little fighter including having open heart surgery in Omaha.

She was welcomed into the family and adored by her siblings. She loved to snuggle and had the biggest smile.  In a few short months, she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends.

Zoey leaves behind her mom, Taryn Ambali, her dad, Akwa Ambali, both of Sioux Falls; her siblings, Lyrik, Cashtyn, Amiyah, and Rani; grandparents Tonya Gott, Todd Altfillisch, Aggrey and Mercy Ambali ; great grandparents Richard and Barbara Gott, Gloria Gott, and Wayne "Buster" and Sandy Altfillisch; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Tammy Altfillisch and Esther Ambali; great great grandparents Harold "Shorty" and Evelyn Larson, Albert and Adeline Anderson, Frank Gott Sr., and Margaret Dressler; and several great uncles and aunts.
