Yvonne D. Logan was born on March 23, 1950 to parents Bryl and Luella (Tigner) Logan. She grew up on the family's farm in Logan Township, near Clark, SD. She attended Logan Grade School through eighth grade and then attended Clark High School where she graduated in 1968. She then attended South Dakota State University for two years and then transferred to Watertown Business College graduating in 1971. Yvonne obtained her Associate of Science degree in 1990 from Northern State University.
She worked as a social worker for the State of SD in Pierre and then relocated to Arizona for six years. She traveled back to South Dakota and worked in Sioux Falls for Sioux Vocational Services until 2011 moving back to Clark due to declining health issues. In 2012 after being diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, Yvonne became a resident of Jenkins Living Center in Watertown where she resided until her death.
Yvonne was a hard worker and a quiet girl who never asked for much but appreciated everything. She served as a foster parent and truly enjoyed children. Yvonne was an excellent seamstress and cook. She loved spending time with her family, being home for holidays, and helping her mom around the house. In her younger years, Yvonne enjoyed playing hand bells and singing in her church choirs. She enjoyed music, also playing piano, and had a beautiful singing voice. Above all though was her strong faith. She was a member of the United Methodist Church throughout her life and participated actively in her church activities working with the various youth groups and serving as a lay minister. As her disease progressed, she still treasured someone praying with her and holding her hand while reading scripture.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Byrl and Luella Logan, and a sister, Cynthia Voas.
Grateful to have shared Yvonne's life were her siblings, Doug (Debbi) Logan of Camillus, NY, and Sandra (Jay) Wano of Latrobe, PA, a brother-in-law, Raleigh (Rebecca) Voas of Fort Collins, CO, several nieces and nephews and their families, aunts, Mary Olson and Lorrayne Logan, and several cousins.
Furness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
