Thomas M. Schweiger, age 70, of Watertown, SD, died early Thursday morning, October 8, 2015 at the Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1PM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with Pastor Mark Tracy officiating. Music will be provided by Wendy Christman. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. There will be no visitation. He was born Thomas Martin Schweiger on October 20, 1944 in Ash Township, north of Raymond, SD, the son of Joseph and Ruth G. (Raines) Schweiger. He attended school at Raymond, graduating in 1962. Following his graduation he worked for various businesses in the Clark/Watertown area including Larkin Potato Co., McCain Foods and Medallion Homes. Due to a couple of injuries, Tom has not been able to work for several years. He enjoyed caring for his grandchildren, helping his daughters raise their children over the years. He has lived in Watertown for many years and for the last 4 or so years, been a resident of the Meadow Lake Assisted Living Center. Besides caring for his grandchildren, he also enjoyed fishing, reading, watching the Sci Fi channel, CSI and the History channel. Tom also enjoyed listening to music from the 1960's and Janis Joplin. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother-in-law, Bernie Day. Survivors include his daughters, Brandi Schweiger (Josh Trudeau) and Codi Schweiger (Adam Cooney) all of Watertown, 7 grandchildren and a sister, Mary Day (Dale Wendroth) of Sioux Falls.
