Thomas Ray Sauer

Thomas Ray "Tom" Sauer, age 72, Watertown, died peacefully at his home on Lake Kampeska Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018. A memorial service will be held on his birthday, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2PM at the Pavilion at Memorial Park, Watertown, SD.

Thomas Ray Sauer was born on June 9, 1945 in Chicago, IL to Gordon and Donna Rose (Shand) Sauer. Tom attended school in Brookings and Estelline High School. After high school, he joined the US Navy serving our country for 12 years as a marine mechanic.

On December 7, 2001, he was united in marriage to Sharon Taylor.

Tom was the caretaker/manager of Memorial Park at Watertown for the past 21 years. He loved the outdoors whether it be working or     fishing.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Sharon, his children Tammy Hein and Troy (Danielle) Sauer, both of Watertown; stepchildren Rob (Vivian) Sauer, Jr. of Austin, TX, Jen (Matt) Kadinger of Willow Lake, and Dameon Simon of Watertown; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and one great grandchild.
