Thelma Helene Krapp, age 95, Clark, the widow of Clarence Krapp, died on Thursday evening, January 12, 2012 in the Golden Living Center at Clark. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark with The Reverend Robin Schaunaman officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. The organist will be Dorothy Fuller. Casketbearers will be her grandchildren; Darrin Johnson, Bryan Hanson, Tammy Cadman, Teresa Bowden-Buffington, Tracie Hammerstrom, Shannon Smit, Jared, Tyler and Tanner Campbell and Alex Peck. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-6 PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue one hour prior to services at the Church on Monday morning. She was born Thelma Helene Wicks on February 12, 1916, to Austin and Theodora (Odson) Wicks in Woodland Township in Clark County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Calvary Lutheran Church near Bradley. Prior to her marriage, Thelma helped families needing home care and one year at the Mable Stacey Maternity Home. In the 1930's she worked at the N.Y.A. in the old Court House. She sewed baby clothes by hand, and sacked food for the needy families. Thelma married Clarence Carl Krapp on January 4, 1939. They farmed in Clark County until 1981 when they moved into Clark. After her children were all in school, Thelma worked several years at the Clark Nursing Home as an aide. After Clarence passed, Thelma kept busy mending and sewing for many families in the Clark Community, and sewing blocks for quilts at the St. Paul Lutheran church. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in 1983, one daughter Doris Ogan, great grandchildren Kyle and Amanda Jo Simmons, brothers Helmer, Austin, Hector and a brother in infancy, Theodore "Teddy" Wicks; sisters Altona Sellevold, Ann Bannick, Alice Folkestad, Gladys Wicks, and Helen Coffey. Gratetful for having shared her life are her son, LeRoy Kropp of Clark, daughters Shirley (Kip) Bowden of Huron, Arlys (Delmyn) Johnson of Sioux Falls, and Jean (Garry) Campbell of Greenville, WI, and son-in-law Steve Ogan of Pierre, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren , sister-in-law Thelma Wicks of Clark, and many nieces and nephews.
