Terry Hallberg

Terry Hallberg, age 83, of Seattle, WA, formerly of Clark, SD passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at his home with family by his side.

A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery of Clark, SD on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 3 pm.

Terry Hallberg was born July 3, 1939 in Clark, SD to Harold and Margaret (Froke) Hallberg. He was raised on a farm south of Clark and attended a one-room country school in Darlington Township for four years. He completed his elementary and high school education in the Clark Public Schools graduating in 1957. In 1961, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He did post-graduate work at Evangel University, the University of Washington, and Seattle University from which he received his MBA degree in 1972. Terry worked for Douglas Aircraft (Southern California) from 1962-1964 and was employed by Boeing Company (Seattle, WA) from 1964-1972. He worked at the Fluke Corporation (Everett, WA) for almost 29 years from 1972-2001.

He married Teresita "Thess" Munar in 1987. He had two sons, Michael and Christopher, from a previous marriage. His wife, children, nieces, nephews and extended family were an important part of his life. Terry was active in the Assembly of God Church. He sang in the choir for many years, was a leader in the Sunday school, and served as an usher. He was a Certified Manufacturing Engineer, a founding member of the Northwest Electronic Manufacturer's Association, and a longtime member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Terry loved sports, gardening, music and travel. He was a frequent visitor to his native South Dakota and had a deep appreciation of his rural South Dakota background. He was an avid University of Washington football fan.

Terry is survived by his wife, Thess, his two children, Michael and Christopher, and many extended family members and friends. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and community he leaves behind. He will forever be in our hearts and remembered for his infectious laugh and warm and friendly smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret Hallberg.

A memorial will be held on Monday, May 1st at 12PM at Calvary Christian Assembly, 6801 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115 with reception to follow. Burial will be at a later date in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Clark, SD.
