The sister of Dr. Clay Yeoman
Sue B. (Yeoman) Gonzalez, age 57, died in her home on April 10th 2018, in East Rochester New York due to complications following pancreatic cancer.
Sue was born on March 11th, 1961 in Rapid City South Dakota, to her parents Dorothy and Lyle Yeoman. She attended High School in Dell Rapids South Dakota graduating in 1979 and would go on to attend the University of South Dakota with her brother Clay Yeoman. During college, she joined the military where she met her husband Anthony Gonzalez in 1983. Sue gained the rank of First Lieutenant with the US Army Reserve. After getting married, the Gonzalez's settled in East Rochester New York, where they raised a family of four kids. While in East Rochester she worked for Citibank student loans, Xerox and for over 20 years till her death was a librarian at the East Rochester high school. Susan enjoyed gardening and had a deep love of books and reading, she had an impact on hundreds of lives both in the classroom or the library.
Mrs. Gonzalez was a kind and caring woman, whose impact on the community emanated far beyond just the High School. She volunteered her time with St. Jerome's Church teaching religious educations to children. Sue was also an election inspector and took great pride in helping people take part of the democratic process. When she wasn't helping out in the community, she was often reading new books to see if they would be good for the library or maintaining her garden. She also greatly enjoyed taking in nature during long drives in her Mustang with her husband. She now leaves us with the mindset of "Why wait? Let's live life while we can before it's too late".
She is survived by her husband Tony Gonzalez, children Jasper, Samantha, Sabrina, Christian and wife Samantha, all of the East Rochester area, also survived by brother Brett Yeoman and wife Carol of Sioux Falls SD and brother Dr Clay Yeoman of Clark SD.
