Stanley Bruha

Stanley J. Bruha, 86, formerly of Vienna, SD died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Parkview Care Center in Bryant, SD. Visitation for Stan will be 5-7 PM, Tuesday, March 22, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vienna, followed by a Prayer Service at 7 PM.  Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 23 at the church.  The Reverend Brian Taffe will officiate.  The casketbearers will be Charles Lusk, Mark Prouty, Marvin Virchow, Roger Smith, Basil Englert, and Zach Beman.  The organist will be Dorothy Fuller with the soloist being Kyle Peterson.  Burial will follow in the Dixon Cemetery east of Vienna. Stanley was born to Joseph and Frances (Trubach) Bruha on December 13, 1929 in Hamlin County, SD. Stan was a lifelong resident of Hamlin County. He was a third generation farmer, born on the family homestead, where he spent his whole life farming. He went to country school and then graduated from Vienna High School in 1949.

He was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vienna and served as the sexton of the Dixon and Bethlehem Church Cemeteries. Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He also loved having coffee at Myra's in Vienna with friends. Stan is survived by several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Virgil.
