Shirley Mae Eckhoff, 85 of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Clark,  died on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Westwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday April 30th at Rose Hill Cemetery, Clark, SD.  Greg Furness will preside at the graveside services.

Shirley was born October 12, 1930 in Cando, North Dakota to Melvin and Olga (Rasmussen) Holtman.  Shirley grew up on the family farm and attended school there.  She graduated Detroit Lakes High School, Detroit Lakes, MN. Shirley went to work for Northwest Airlines (now Delta) in Seattle, WA around 1952.  Later, moving to Fargo, ND where she met Norman Eckhoff, who also worked for the airline.  The couple were united in marriage Dec. 15, 1956 at Watertown, SD. They both continued to work for Northwest moving to Honolulu, HI and retired in 1988 after 36 years with the airline.  The couple then moved to the Eckhoff family farm near Clark, SD and enjoyed a much slower pace life during the first years of retirement.  In 2005 they sold the farm and moved to Dakota Dunes, SD. Norman died June 24, 2015.  Shirley later moved into a nursing home in Sioux City, IA.

Surviving are her sister, Linda Hornsby of Sandy, UT., 2 brother in-law's, Virgil and Mary Eckhoff, Sioux Falls, SD, Wayne and Mary Eckhoff, Frazee, MN, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, parents, brother, John Holtman, sister, Cynthia Holtman, brother in-law, Cecil Eckhoff.
