A private burial will be held on Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark for sisters, Darla Rae Sasse and Sherylyn Jean Cross, daughters of Frank and Sharon (Ness) Croninger. A public reception will be held at 1:30PM at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel in Clark on Saturday, September 12, 2015. Please join the family. Sherylyn Jean Croninger Cross 1949-2015 Shery passed away at home on March 6, 2015 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Shery was born April 22, 1949 in Watertown, South Dakota to George "Frank" and Sharon Croninger. The oldest of four children, she graduated from Clark High School in 1967 and National College of Business in Rapid City. She married Brant "Terry" Towner in 1969 and traveled to Maryland and Pennsylvania while he was in the Air Force. She was widowed in 1972 when both were in the Rapid City Flood and spent the next several years with Volunteer Services for the Ellsworth Air Force Base helping families transition. She married Arby "Dan" Cross in 1985 and had two children: Danica and Dane. The family moved from Rapid City to San Jose, California and then to Boise after a massive earthquake. She worked for the US Attorney's Office and the US Marshal Service for over thirty years and retired in 2008. She loved spending time with family,bowling and looking through thrift stores. She is survived by her children: Danica and Dane Cross of Meridian, Idaho and her sister, Carolyn (Ron) Ronke of Watertown, South Dakota. She is preceded in death by her husband Arby "Dan", her sister Darla, her parents George "Frank" and Sharon, and her brother Franklin "Butch". She was a very strong, courageous and loving woman who will be deeply missed. Her faith, hope and optimism was an inspiration to others and her memory will live on.
