Sharon Marie Buxton

Sharon (Schmitt) Buxton, age 64, of Doland, formerly of Clark, died at her home Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Sharon Marie Schmitt was born January 13, 1957, in Milbank, SD, to Rosemary (VanHout) and Jerome Schmitt. When she was 3, the family moved to Clark where she attended Clark Elementary and High School.

She married Robert "Bob" Audus and they had two daughters, Dawn and Wendy, and twins, Shelly and John. They lived in Florida for a time and later divorced. Sharon later married Barry Buxton. After Barry died, Sharon moved back to Clark in 2016. She worked at Ken's Fairway for a time before moving to Doland where she currently resided.

Sharon enjoyed reading, playing dice with her family, and fishing with her brothers. She was a huge fan of dragonflies and collected anything with a dragonfly on it!

Survivors are her daughters, Dawn, Wendy, and Shelly; a step-son Scott of New Orleans; four grandchildren; her mother, Rosemary Schmitt of Clark; and her siblings, Gerald Schmitt of Doland, Ardella (Ken) Anderson of Lincoln, NE, Peter Schmitt and Tony  (Rhonda Mullin) Schmitt of Sioux Falls, and Donny Schmitt of Rapid City.

Preceding her in death were her father, Jerome Schmitt; her husband, Barry Buxton; her son, John Edward Audus; and her brother, Dennis Schmitt.
