Sharon Fox Brannan, age 91, a resident of Clark, SD died Sunday evening, May 5, 2024 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD, surrounded by her family.
A visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, 2024, from 4-6 PM with a Liturgical Wake Service with a Rosary at 6 PM at Furness Funeral Home in Clark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church of Clark with Celebrant Reverend Richard Baumberger. Burial will be held at St. Boniface Cemetery in Clark with a lunch to follow back at the St. Michael's Parish Hall.

Sharon Fox was born on September 28, 1932, in Clark, SD, to Walter and Viola (Kelly) Fox. She was the oldest of seven children and grew up and stayed in Clark County. She graduated from Clark High School in 1951.
On September 5, 1953, she married Gene Brannan. Sharon was a homemaker on the farm and mother to three children, Larry, Pam and Peggy. She was a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was very active with the Altar Society and many other church activities.
Sharon truly enjoyed her life on the farm! Her hobbies were knitting, gardening her many beautiful flowers and making sure the farm yard was perfectly mowed every week. Sharon loved dancing and she and Gene never missed a dance. Sharon cooked for six to eight hunters in the fall for pheasant hunting every year for many years. She was employed by the Grand Lodge in Huron and also worked at Dacotah Bank in Clark. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and making them special treats.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Brannan, her parents, Walt and Viola Fox, sister, Judy Christensen, and son-in-law, John Hallberg. She was also preceded by her mother and father-in-law, Ray and Belva Brannan, sisters-in-law, Arlis Fox, Marjorie Krenkel and Welma Nelson, brothers-in-law, Leonard Christensen and Bill Altfillisch and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Jeannette) Brannan of Raymond, Pam Hallberg of Omaha, NE, and Peggy (Doug) Steever of Sioux Falls, her grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Jennifer, J.D. Cassandra, Adrienne and Erica and nine great-grandchildren. Sharon also leaves behind siblings Joe Fox, Janice Larson, Diane Altfillisch, Dean Fox and Darla (Rich) Larsen and many nieces and nephews.
