Sandra K.(Mrs. Glenn "Corky") Scott,age 51, Naples, died in the Prairie Lakes Hospital at Watertown on Monday afternoon, June 22, 2009 after a illness due to a stroke she had suffered in 2006.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 2PM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with the Reverend Warren Rhodes officiating.
Music will be presented by Dorothy Fuller as pianist and Greg Furness as soloist. Honorary casketbearers will be Joy Wookey and Connie Masloski and the staff of Golden Living Center at Clark. The active casketbearers will be Les Duncan, Dale Kromendyke, Cody Currier, Reid Holida, Don Adams and Mark Arneson. Burial will follow in the Naples Cemetery at Naples, SD.
Visitation will be held on Friday from noon until time of services in the Chapel at Clark.
She was born on March 1, 1958 in Sioux Falls, the daughter of Alfred and Norma (Niemeyer) Kosters. She attended school in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1976. Following high school, she worked for McDonalds in Sioux Falls prior to her marriage to Glenn Corky Scott on February 14, 1981. The couple farmed together for a short time in the Naples and Hazel area. Corky then went into the trucking business. She was a mother and farm wife. In September of 2006 she suffered a stroke that left her partially paralyzed and disabled. She had resided at the Golden Living Center in Clark since October of 2006.
Among her hobbies were crafts, painting and going fishing with Cork. Some of her fondest moments were spent doing crafts and she will be remembered for being a fine artist.
Among survivors grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Corky of Naples; her son, Eric Lee Scott of Watertown; a brother, Mark Kosters and his wife Betty of Rowlett, TX; two sisters, Debra Campbell and husband David of Mesa, AZ and Lori West and her partner, Kevin Severson, of Sioux Falls; and her in-laws, Glenn and Mary Scott of Naples.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Donald Edzards; and her grandparents.
