Ruth Marbeth Wika, age 97, the widow of Normal, died in the Clark Care and Rehabilitation Center early Thursday morning, March 1, 2018. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 5-7PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue after 9:30 AM at the Church on Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark with The Reverend Mindy Ehrke officiating.  Wendy Christman will be the organist. Casket bearers will be Darrick, Tony, Erik, Greg and Garrett Wika and Tracy Odegaard.  Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark.
Born Ruth Marbeth Stevens on October 7, 1920, the daughter of Cyril and Mary (Moren) Stevens on a farm near Clark. She attended school in Day Township (The Brick School) through the 7th grade. The family moved to Mt. Pleasant Township where she finished the 8th grade at the Bull School. She then graduated from Clark High School in Clark.

In 1938 she married Normal S. Wika at the Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. He died in June of 1992.

Marbeth as she became known, was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clark where she served on many and various committees. She has served as President of the WELCA, served on the Church council, and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Marbeth was also an active part of the annual lutefisk supper and was a member of the Ruth Circle at the Church.

In the community she was a member of the Clark County Historical Society, and the Merry-Go-Round Extension Club. The Meal of Wheels Program in Clark was very special to her heading it up for some 19 years.

In her free-time she enjoyed traveling, oil painting, and all kinds of music, especially Big Band and Classical.

Survivors include her 5 children, Brent (Judy Postulka)) Wika of Watertown, Darryl (Carmen Callsen) Wika of Brookings, Darwin (Kathleen "Kay" Schanck) of West Chester, PA, Dawn (Gary) Van Riper of Morrison, Col, and Bruce (Judy Dinslow) of Franktown, CO, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Wilma Stevens of Clark.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a granddaughter, Darya Wika, two sisters Darlene (Alvin) Wika and Beverly (Donald) Kluess, and a brother, Dale Stevens.
