Ruth A. Waterfall

Mrs. Ruth Waterfall, the widow of Donald Waterfall, age 82 of Clark, formerly of the Raymond community died early Wednesday morning, April 27, 2005 in a Clark care center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 10:30 AM in the Peace Lutheran Church at Clark with the Reverend Mark Guthmiller officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home in Clark and after 9AM on Saturday morning at the Church in Clark. She was born at Turton, SD, the daughter of Manford and Augusta (Johnson) Hagstrom. She grew to adulthood in the Turton area. On September 13, 1941 she was united in marriage to Donald W. Waterfall at Raymond. Following their marriage they farmed near Turton for two years. In 1943 they moved to a farm west of Raymond in Spink County where they resided until 1975. In the fall of 1975 they moved into a home in Clark. While living in Clark, she worked at the Bockoven Drug and Gift Store from 1977 until it closed in 1997. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Raymond and its Ladies Aid group. Some community organizations she was involved in was the Clark County Chapter of the American Cancer Society serving as Treasurer for many years and the Thrifty Gang Extension Club. She will long be remembered for her love of card and board game playing, with friends and grandchildren. Another special interest of hers was collecting teddy bears. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Larry Waterfall and wife Sally of Clark, Ronald Waterfall and wife Phylis of Milbank and Tami Peters and husband Joe of Clark. 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
