Ruth C. Jungers, age 89, Watertown, formerly of Castlewood, died at Benet Place on March 30, 2011. She was the widow of John Jungers, Sr. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Holy Name Catholic Church at Watertown with The Reverend John Lantsberger officiating. The organist will be Jane Rokusek and Blaine Martin the song leader. The soloist, LeeAnn Maag, will sing "On Eagle's Wings" Burial will follow in the Castlewood Cemetery at Castlewood. Casketbearers will be her grandchildren, Jacqueline, Lynn, Jamie & Gary Langerock, Kevin & Ryan DeWall, Jennifer Schumacher, Erik & Amanda Junso, Angela Karl, Cassandra Henze and Tiffany & Jordan Jungers. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-6PM with a Liturgical Wake service beginning at 5:30 PM all at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Watertown. Visitation will continue in the Church on Monday morning after 9AM. She was born Ruth Carolyn Ching on September 12, 1921 near Castlewood, SD, the daughter of Melvin H. and Ella (Holthe) Ching. She was schooled in the Castlewood area graduating from Castlewood High School in 1939. She then worked at the Castlewood Creamery for a time. On September 16, 1941 she was united in marriage to John Jungers, Sr. The couple lived and farmed northeast of Castlewood until retiring and moving to Watertown in September of 1991. She was a loving Mother and devoted homemaker, enjoying sewing, gardening and family get-togethers. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and Ruth belonged to several local women's groups. Second to none though was her love of babysitting and taking care of her grandchildren, something she thoroughly enjoyed. Since living in Watertown she was a member of Holy Name Parish. Preceding her in death was her parents, her husband John, Sr., a brother, Richard (Beth) Ching and a son-in-law, Don Givens. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Dianne Givens of Clark, Janice (Ron) DeWall of Loretto, MN, John "Jack" Jungers of Watertown, Jerry (Cindy) Jungers of Milbank and Sandy (Mike) Junso of Watertown. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert (Shirley) Ching of Estelline.
