Ruth L. Hagen, age 85, the widow of O.B."Ole" Hagen, longtime Clark resident, died in the Beverly Healthcare Center at Clark on Thursday evening, June 1, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 10:30 AM in the Crocker Lutheran Church at Crocker, SD. Burial will follow in the Calvary Lutheran Cemetery near Bradley. Dr. Paul Larson will officiate. Honorary Casketbearers will be the staff and residents of the Fay Wookey Memorial Assisted Living Center and the Staff of Beverly Healthcare Center at Clark. Active Casketbearers will be Larry and LeRoy Bakken, Glen Luvaas, Al Felchle, Ron Givens and Milo Kolden. Music will be presented by Marvine Obermeier and Wendy Christman. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and 1 hour preceding services at the Church on Tuesday morning. She was born at Naples, SD on July 7, 1920, the daughter of Arne and Annie (Renmoe) Bakken. She attended country school near Naples through the 8th grade at which time she had to help with raising the family due to her Mother's death. On October 22, 1949 she was united in marriage to Ole B. 'O.B.' Hagen at the Lutheran parsonage in Henry by Rev. Swain. The couple moved to a farm west of Bradley where they lived and farmed, except for a short period in Spearfish in 1955, until moving into Clark in 1973. While living in Clark she worked in the food service department at the Clark Care Center for over 20 years. Mr. Hagen died on April 30, 1999. She moved into the Roetell Apartments in December of 1999 living there until moving into the Fay Wookey Memorial Assisted Living Center in 2002. Some of her hobbies included playing bingo, gardening, flowers ' especially the green house plants, going to rummage sales and collecting dolls. While living at the Wookey Center, Ruth thoroughly enjoyed helping in the laundry department folding towels. Survivors include her children, Sharon Stormo and husband Gregg of Clark and David Hagen and wife Lori of Hillsboro, OR; 4 grandchildren, Jason, Kerri, Kristi and Jeff and 4 great grandchildren, Eric, Michael, Tyler and Savannah. She also leaves a sister, Clara Ness and husband Harold of Spearfish.
