Ruby G Pieschke

Ruby Pieschke, age 86, Clark, died on Wednesday evening, February 3, 2021 in the Prairie Lake Hospital at Watertown with family at her side.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 7, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Tracy officiating.

Ruby Grace Pieschke was born July 17, 1934 with her twin sister Ruth in Clark County, SD, to Katie (Bruns) and Adolph Pieschke.  She attended country school in Hague Township at Happy Days Country School and Wolff Country School. She was baptized at Hague Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Clark.

Ruby was a hard-working woman. She worked at several jobs throughout her life including Larken's Potato Co., Doyen's Café, Imperial Lounge, Donna's Café, Willow Lake Grocery, Prairie Pumper,  the Playhouse and the Corner Diner. She was the best cook and was well known for her skills especially her homemade donuts and a pretty mean potato salad.

Ruby enjoyed crocheting, tatting, embroidery, knitting, and playing piano and organ. She loved visiting with people and of course, cooking for them. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and traveling with them.  She even flew to Las Vegas for her 80 ^th birthday! It was her first airplane flight. She was given a set of wings and was allowed to sit in the cockpit making her birthday pretty special.

Ruby will be missed by her children, Kayleen (Donnell) Adolph of Clark and Doyle (Rochelle) Pieschke of DeLamere, ND; two grandchildren and their fiancés; eleven step-grandchildren; ten step-great grandchildren, one step-great-great grandchild; her siblings, Charles Pieschke, Kathleen Clausen, Ruth (Larry) Hartley and Charlotte Haight; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Ada, Harold, Kenny and Ray; and a daughter-in-law, Natalie (Doyle) Pieschke.
