Rose M Rieke (Mrs. Robert) age 77, Clark, died in the Jenkins living Center early Monday morning, March 21, 2016.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue at the Church in Clark after 9AM on Saturday morning.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the United Methodist Church at Clark with Pastor Mark Tracy officiating. The organist will be Dorothy Fuller with Roger Nordhus as soloist. The casketbearers will be Dustin, Adam, and Eugene Beynon, Colton Wientjes, Wyatt Holmstrom, and Chuck DeBoer. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark.
She was born Rose Marie Kohl on August 16, 1938 at Bradley, the daughter of Fred and Amanda (Czmowski) Kohl. Rose attended school through the 8th grade at Bradley. High school was an important goal for her and her goal was completed in July of 2005 when she received her GED at Watertown.
On December 17, 1955 she was united in marriage to Robert Rieke at the Methodist parsonage in Clark. The couple lived and farmed near Carpenter for the next 14 years. In addition to raising the three children while living on the farm, she took an active part in the operation and also worked for Andy Kraft at the lounge/restaurant in Raymond. In the fall of 1969 they moved into Clark and have made their home in Clark since.
While living in Clark she worked for the Night Owl, and Fairfield Products, later becoming McCain Foods, as a scale operator and dispatcher. After retiring, she worked at the Clark School as a field house supervisor until her health failed. She has lived at Jenkins Living Center for the past 2 years.
In her free moments she enjoyed playing cards, bingo, working crossword and word search books and putting together puzzles.
Preceding her in death were her parents, twins in infancy, a sister, Helen (Richard) Lambert and a ½ sister, Lucille.
Survivors include her husband Robert, a daughter, Bobbie (Dean) Palmer all of Clark, a son, Eddie Rieke of Vienna, and a daughter Brenda (Rocky) Beynon of Clark, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother, Bernard (Pat) Kohl of Arkansas and 11 ½ siblings.
