Rose Emma Lamb was born July 7,1926 on a farm near Willow Lake, South Dakota. Growing up, Rose had the ability to conquer any task she set her mind to. Throughout her life, she lived according to her own rules. Excelling at school and sports, she was intelligent, independent, creative, and vivacious.
At the age of 17, she met her first husband Wallace "Wally" Seefeldt in a whirlwind romance straight out of a black and white movie. They were married on October 4, 1944 and eventually had two children, Barbara and Milan. At the age of 39, Wally suffered a heart attack and sadly, passed away. The little family was devastated. By her own account, it was only Barbie and Milan who were able to pull Rose through the sudden loss.
While she grieved, Rose met Willow Lake farmer, Lyle Lamb, who had also lost his wife in the same month. The two became friends and after four years, the couple were married on June 7, 1963. Rose and Lyle! were delighted when five years after their marriage, they welcomed their son, Kyle, who Rose considered to be a "miracle." Rose lived a good life and was always thankful for her family, friends, and health.
She loved building bird houses, writing, and dominating many a player at cards. She was a hard worker, sharp as a tack, stubborn as a mule, and full of the type of grit that is hard to find outside of a 1960's Western.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, and siblings, Ruth, Ernest, and Lee, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Peterson.
Survivors include her three children, Barb (Delwin) Bratland, Milan (Shirley) Seefeldt, and Kyle (Melynda) Lamb; 8 grandchildren, Tracy, Tim (Holly), Trav (Connie), Todd, Taren (Mike), Twyla, Kelsey (Marcos), & Lukas; 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Elwood Peterson; Step-children, Delores (Walt) Gehrke, Verdon (Marlene) Lamb, and Vergean (Garald) Harms, and several step grand, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
