Ronald "Ronnie" J. O'Connor, age 73, died at his home on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.
Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery at Clark in June of 2019. Services will be private.
He was born Ronald James O'Connor on December 28, 1944 at Clark, the son of George and Kathryn (Devine) O'Connor. Ronnie attended Clark school and graduated from Clark High School in 1963.
Following high school he worked for Larkin Potato Company in Clark for many years and also spent 6 years in the United States National Guard – Clark unit.
Ron met Anna "Annie" Foster at the Larkin Potato Company and the couple married in Huron on November 11, 1967. Ronnie later went to work for the Clark Community Oil for several years and then opened O'Connor Tires in the late 1980's. The couple always lived in Clark. After Ronnie closed the tire company he worked as a groundskeeper at the Clark Golf Club and then as dealer and later a pit boss for the Dakota Sioux Casino near Watertown working for them for 18 years before retiring.
In his free moments he thoroughly enjoyed bowling, playing golf, but second to none was mowing his yard, never letting anyone else ever mow it.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, John Frank, a sister, Kay Warkenthien, his wife Annie, step-children, Keith and Peggy.
Survivors include step-daughters, Brenda (Stan) Jongbloed of Watertown, and Nancy (Stacey) Steffen of Clark, 12 step-grandchildren, 18 step-great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-great grandchildren.
