Ron Wolf

Sioux Falls, SD ~ Ronald Gene Wolf, age 65, died on Friday, December 9, 2022.

A Celebration of life for Ronald will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the Grande Prairie Clubhouse. 7001 S. Edinburg PL. Sioux Falls, SD 57108.

Ronald Gene Wolf was born on March 8, 1957 in Watertown, SD to Bill and Angie (Welk) Wolf.  He was raised on a farm 3 miles west and 1/2 mile south of Clark, SD.  Ron received his education in Clark graduating from Clark High School in 1975. While in high school, Ron developed a love of athletics, especially football. Ron continued his education at Dakota State University in Madison where he also played football.

After college, Ron taught Industrial Arts in Arlington, SD and then taught and coached basketball in Flandreau until the mid-1990's. He then turned his passion to cooking. In 1999 Ron purchased and began operating Mad Mary's Steakhouse in Flandreau, SD. Ron sold Mad Mary's in 2008 and moved to Chester, SD for several years before making his home in Sioux Falls, SD.   While in Sioux Falls, Ron worked at Billion Automotive, Year-Round Brown, Sanford Healthcare and was currently working at Allied Security at the new Amazon Warehouse. Ron was a 3-time survivor of Hodgkin's Lymphoma and, although the cancer took a toll on his health in his later years, he never gave up his stubborn German-heritage spirit. Ron was blessed with the ability to fix about anything, he was a "Jack of All Trades" and was happy to help anyone in need.  He had a larger-than-life personality, and took great pride in his home, his work, and his toys.  He loved spending time at his lake home while living in Chester and entertained many people there.  Ron was a life-long Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR.  Above all, he loved his family and friends.

Grateful for having shared his life are four siblings, Craig Wolf of Clark, Tim (Sharlene) Wolf of Chandler, AZ, Cindy Wolf of Clark, and Sheila (Corey) Mennenga of Watertown; nephews and nieces, Gabriel Carrasco, Jordon (Lindsey) Wolf, Lisa (Jon) Bannwarth, Bri-Anna Johnson, Mason Mennenga, Micah Mennenga and Malachi Mennenga; four great nieces and nephews, Julia, Natalie, Miles and Lincoln; Ron's best friend, Bruce Kleinjan of Volga, SD; many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Angie Wolf.

Services are with George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Furness's Funeral Home is assisting the family.
