Robert William Pickrel

Robert W. "Bob" Pickrel, age 74, Clark, died at his home, peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, August 8, 2011 after a brief illness. Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 7PM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with Pastor Donna Nickels officiating. Burial will be private. He was born at Watertown, SD, on February 16, 1937, the son of Lester and Veronica (Riley) Pickrel. He attended school in Watertown and Rapid City as a child and graduated from the 8th grade. The family lived in Watertown and Rapid City. He was united in marriage to MaDonna "Donna" Clyde. To this union two children were born, John and Cindy. This marriage later ended in divorce, however the couple remained friends until her death in 2008. He worked for many years in Livingston and Billings, MT as a contractor. He also spent several years working for Donny Burrows before retiring. Some of his fondest moments were spent hunting and fishing. Second to none though was his love of his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors who are grateful for having shared in his life are his children, John (Michele) Pickrel and Cindy Pickrel all of Clark, Cindy's special friend, Calvin Tebble of Doland, a brother, Gerald Pickrel of Watertown, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, the children's mother, MaDonna, a brother, Jack Pickrel and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Pickrel. An on-line registry is available at www.furnessfuneralhome.com
