Robert C. Bob Olverson, age 54, Tallassee, AL, formerly of the Raymond & Clark communities, died on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 in the Tallassee Community Hospital. He had suffered an apparent stroke on Sunday. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 15, 2004 at 2PM in the United Methodist Church at Clark with the Reverend Warren Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery at Clark. He was born at Watertown, SD on March 301949, the son of Erlus and Melba (Graves) Olverson. He attended grade school at the Logan Consolidated School in Logan Township near Raymond and then graduated from Clark High School in 1967. After high school he went to the Southern State College in Springfield, SD before entering the United States Army in 1970. He served for a number of years in the military and was stationed in Viet Nam. Following his service to his country, he returned to the family farm and assisted there. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator and also did mechanic work. He later began his career in trucking where for the last 5 years has co-owned and operated the 3/G & Associates, Inc, a trucking firm located in Tallassee, AL. Prior to that he had lived and worked out of Plains, GA. Bob is remembered by his stories of life on the road as a truck driver and his love of family and friends. He was a lively spirited man with a very distinct sense of humor and was widely known and loved by everyone he met. Grateful for having shared his life is his Mother, Melba Olverson of Clark (living in Yankton, SD), a daughter, Cassandra Olverson and friend Jason Henne of Springfield, MO, a brother, Jim Olverson and wife Shirley of Watertown, SD and a sister, Jean Liudahl and husband Rick of Yankton, SD. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and other family members. Preceding him in death was his Father, Erlus Olverson in 1980. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home in Clark and 2 hours preceding the services on Monday at the Church.
