Robert W. "Bob" Bull, age 88, Clark, died peacefully with family at his side on Friday evening, October 10, 2014, two days shy of his 89th birthday, in the Golden Living Center at Clark. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue at the Church on Saturday after noon. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1PM in the Clark United Methodist Church with The Reverend Mark Tracy officiating. Casketbearers will be his grandchildren. Wanda Bethke will be the organist and Roger Nordhus will be the soloist. Military rites will be held outside the Church following the funeral service. Private burial will be held on Sunday at Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. He was born Robert Wayne Bull on October 12, 1925 at the Stacey's midwife home in Clark, the son of Wesley & Ellen (Larson) Bull. At a young age the family moved to Mt. Pleasant Township. He attended grade school at the Concord Country School in Mt. Pleasant Township and then Clark High School. While in high school he worked for Don Swanson, Sr. Bob continued working for area farmers until he was drafted into the US Army and served his country honorably until December of 1946. After his return to Clark County, he went to work for George Temple. While working for George Temple, he met, and later married George's daughter, Dorothy, a local school teacher. The two were married on April 10, 1949. To this union they were blessed with five children; Robert "Bobby", Dianne, Mary, Rick and Betty. Over the years Bob worked at various places of employment in Clark and Watertown including working as a janitor for the Elks Club, the Clark County Courthouse for 18 ½ years, and his favorite work was at Clausen Construction as a blade operator for over 13 years and even as late as 2007/2008 as a packer operator, both of which he loved dearly. His hobbies over the years included playing horseshoes, camping, woodworking, watching the Minnesota Twins. Second to none though was his love of dancing and playing cards. Preceding him in death were his parents, a step mother, Iva Davis, a grandson, Gordy Lyons, siblings, Lloyd Bull, Lyle (Phyllis) Bull, Loel Bull, Don (Beatrice) Bull and Dorothy (Eldon) Hartman and a son-in-law, Daniel Wientjes. Survivors include his children, Robert H. Bull of Watertown, Dianne M. Wientjes of Stockholm, Mary (Tom) Henning of Watertown, Richard A. (Jackie) Bull of Sioux Falls and Betty J. (Steve) Yexley of Littleton, CO; siblings, Skip (Diane) Bull of CA and Larry (Phyllis) Bull of Sioux Falls; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving him is a great friend, Mavis Bymers of Clark and the children's mother, Dorothy Bull of Watertown.
