Robert Brown

Robert Charles Brown, 88, Cameron, Missouri born at Clark, South Dakota to Rena and Carroll Brown on March 30, 1925. He passed away on October 10, 2013. Bob worked with his father on their dairy farm for many years and with the Soil Conservation Service in Clark, South Dakota. He graduated from Clark High School, Dakota Wesleyan University, and Iliff Seminary in Denver. In 1946, he married Melba Pierce. Two children were born to this family; Barbara Kay and Glenn Alan. Bob served churches in South Dakota, Nebraska, two churches in New Mexico, and after retirement he served in Missouri. He enjoyed counseling at youth camp. Bob was a member of the Cameron United Methodist Church, Vincil Lodge #62 AF & AM, Cameron. Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Barbara and brother, Dale. Survivors include his wife, Melba; son, Glenn (Mary); grandson, Steve (Sarah); granddaughter, Amanda (Dustin) Beall; brother, Wilfred (Hezzy); great-grandson, Seth Wayne Brown; nieces and nephews. Services: 1:00 PM, Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Cameron United Methodist Church. Visitation: 6-8:00 PM, Thursday evening at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Services will be also be held at 1:00PM, Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Furness Funeral Home, Clark with The Reverend Deborah Mack officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Clark, South Dakota. Memorial donations to the Habitat for Humanity and/or Cameron United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements are with the Poland-Thompson Funeral Home in Cameron and the Furness Funeral Home in Clark, SD.
