Mr. Richard "Dick" Arthur Rose, age 68 of Clark died in a Watertown hospital on Friday afternoon, June 23, 2006 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2PM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with the Reverend Warren Rhodes officiating. Wendy Christman will provide the music. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery - Veterans Section, at Watertown, SD. Visitation will take place 2 hours prior to services in the Chapel on Thursday. Mr. Rose was born at Clark on January 22, 1938. He was raised in the Clark community by his grandparents, Oscar and Florence Dellman. He attended Clark schools graduating in 1956. Following his schooling he worked for First National Bank in Clark as a bank examiner and went on in the field for a few years before entering the military. While serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict he had extensive foreign language training in German and Vietnamese. He was in the Army for nearly 20 years. Following his discharge he lived in Junciton City, KS for many years and later in Mesa, AZ. He moved to Clark in the late 1990's. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying listening and watching Chicago Cubs games. Survivors include his sister, Karyl Cummings and husband Paul of Schnectady, NY and an aunt, Geneve Dellman of Ohio.
