Richard Adams, age 93, died Monday, August 15, 2022 in Lafayette, Indiana. His wife, Beverly Adams, was the sister of the late Jim Forest of Clark.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 2 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery of rural Clark, South Dakota.  Casketbearers will be Tammy & Mike Miller, Jackie & Wayne Schlagel, Carol Folsland, Brent Forest, and Gene Bethke.

Richard Linwood Adams was born September 17, 1928 in Dixfield, Maine, to parents Cleon and Isabell (Linner) Adams. He had 2 brothers, Robert and Cleon, Jr. and sisters, Ethlyn and Joanne. He joined the US Army in 1946 and served for two years.

He lived for a time in Portland, Oregon where he met his future wife, Beverly Forest who was originally from South Dakota. They were married on November 16, 1953 in South Dakota and then drove to Maine. They later moved to West Lafyette where Richard got his PhD at Purdue. He was a professor at Purdue University working as a Poultry Specialist for over thirty years.

Richard was a member of the Fraternal Order of Masons of Dixfield, Maine and a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly and all of his siblings.

Richard is survived by his children, a son, Terry and a daughter, Kimberly; grandsons, Jordan, Conner and Joshua; a sister-in-law, Jo Plucker; and several nieces and nephews.
