Name: Rena A. Seastrand Dates: Birth date: January 23, 1917 Death date: March 10, 2012 Obituary: Rena A. Seastrand, 95, of Clark, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at The Golden Living Center in Clark. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 5-7 pm at Arne-Weerts Funeral Home with the family present from 6-7pm. The funeral masswill be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 1:30 pm at St. Michael Catholic Church in Clark with Father John Short officiating. Organist will be Diane Varilek and Bonnie Graves will be the song leader. Congregation hymns will be "On Eagle's Wings", "Amazing Grace", "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and "Here I Am Lord" Burial will be held at a later date at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford, Connecticut Pallbearers will be Kenny Bell, Wayne McCants, Merlyn Ritter, Ronnie Lamb, Merritt Seefeldt, and Tom Kranz Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff members of The Golden Living Center of Clark Rena A. Seastrand was born January 23, 1917 in Mystic, Connecticut to Adam and Pauline (Ninfi) Cinquanta. Her family moved to Branford (Stony Creek), CT, where her father worked in a granite quarry. Rena was united in marriage to John G. Seastrand on March 30, 1940 in St. George Catholic Church in Gilford, CT. While living in CT, she worked as a seamstress at a number of jobs. She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Stony Creek. After the death of her husband on October 19, 1970, she moved to Clark, South Dakota in 1971, living with her daughter and family for a number of years after which, she moved into the Viking Apartments. She worked as a baker and cook at Clark High School for a number of years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She also was a member of the Red Cross Volunteers in Clark. She was known as being a wonderful Italian cook and baker. In January of 2000, she became a resident of Roetell's Senior Housing until November of 2004, when she moved to The Golden Living Center of Lake Norden, for less than a year and then transferred to The Golden Living Center of Clark. She leaves behind her grandchildren; Kenny (Nan) Bell and Karen (Wayne) McCants, both of Clark, John A. (Pam) Seastrand Jr. of Middlefield, CT, a son-in-law; Ken Bell of Clark, great-grandchildren; Kelsi and Kalli Bell of Clark, Cody Seastrand of Middlefield, CT, a great-step-granddaughter; Sienna McCants of San Diego, CA, daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Seastrand of North Haven, CT, sisters-in-laws, Clara Cinquanta of Branford, CT and Grace Seastrand of Madison, CT. She is preceded in death by her husband John G. Seastrand, a son; John A. Seastrand Sr., a daughter; Sandra Bell, a grandson; Todd Seastrand a sister; Mary Balzcrowski and a brother; Anthony Cinquanta. Back
