Phyllis Dorene Roberts

Dorene Roberts, age 84, Watertown, died in the Golden Living Center at Lake Norden under Hospice care on Sunday afternoon, November 27, 2016.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 4PM in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 3000 9th Avenue SE, Watertown, SD. Don Miller will preside.  A private burial will be held later in Vienna, SD.

She was born Phyllis Dorene Faiferlick on April 17, 1932 at home in Vienna, the daughter of Clarence and Maybelle (Jackson) Faiferlick. She attended school at Vienna.

In 1953 she moved to Watertown and worked as a waitress and at the Red Owl store as a checker. Later moving to LaCrosse, WI and then onto Milwaukee, WI, she began a career with the United States Post Office. She was transferred to Phoenix, AZ where she retired after some 15 years.

In 2006 Dorene returned to South Dakota, living in Sioux Falls and then to Watertown.

In her free moments she enjoyed playing cards, working crossword puzzles and doing some upholstery work.

Since 1970 she has been very dedicated to her Church, the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses .

Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Richard Alan Roberts in 1970, siblings, Jimmy Dean, Roger F. and Dennis Faiferlick. Her brother-in-law, Ron Symens also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a sister, JoLayne "Jody" Symens of Willow Lake and her children, Curtis (Denise) Symens and children, Mitchell and Morgan, Terri Symens, and Brent (Laura) Symens and children, Amelia, Cameron, and Mitchell and other nieces and nephews. Memorials are preferred to Prairie Lakes Hospice, Golden Living Center Special Unit at Lake Norden or the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness at Watertown.
