Phylis Jean (Weinreis) Bollerslev, age 69, Huron, formerly of the Doland community died at the Huron Nursing Home in Huron on Friday morning, August 12, 2005 after a long illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 10:30 AM in the Doland United Methodist Church at Doland with Pastor Grace Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Doland Cemetery. Honorary casketbearers will be Leonard Kaufman, Don and David Mendel, Rueben Tschetter, Jeff Albrecht and Marvin Remily. Active casketbearers will be Jesse Weideman, Erik Perry, Drew Weinreis, Wayne Jensen, Justin Anderson, David Madsen and Joseph Keating. Music will be provided by Judy Mayer and Justin Anderson soloists with Audrey Remily as organist. The congregation will sing "How Great Thou Art". She was born on March 29, 1936 at Mountain Lake, MN, the daughter of Carl and Edna (Walters) Stadtlander. At a young age she moved with her family to a farm near Brentford where she attended school. In 1952 she was united in marriage to LaVerne Weinreis. To this union 7 children were born. The couple lived and farmed near Turton for a brief time before moving to a farm south of Doland. While living on the farm she was very engaged in the farming and dairy operation. On February 5, 1978 she married Dean Bollerslev at Doland. For the past several years the couple has lived at Huron. Some of her favorite pastimes included knitting, crocheting, playing bingo and spending time with the grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed country western music. In the community, she had been an active member of the Doland United Methodist Church, its choir and women?s groups and had been a 4-H leader for many years. Around the home she was known for her baking of breads, pies, cookies and her fried chicken was a specialty, from her spring-raised chickens. She also gardened and enjoyed canning and the making of jams. Survivors include her husband Dean of Huron, 7 children, Mary (Tom) Anderson of WI, Teresa (Ralph) Perry of Winters, CA, Caleen (Bill) Keating of Sioux Falls, Gene (Marsha) Weinreis of Doland, Robert (Robin) Weinreis of Watertown, Betty Weinreis of Hewart, MN and Bill (Candy) Weinreis of Huron; her Mother, Edna Stadtlander of Comfrey, MN, 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, siblings, Darlene (Dean) Gilborne of Mina, SD, Melvin (Janice) Stadtlander of Mountain Lake, MN, Richard (Joan) Stadtlander of Watertown, MN and Sandra (Gary) Gortzen of Sachse, TX. Preceding her in death was her Father, a son, James Craig Weinreis in 1959, a granddaughter, Amanda Jean Weinreis in 1984 and a grandson, Derek Weinreis in 1999. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7PM all in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark.
