Paul Andrew Glanzer was born in Manitoba, Canada on November 23, 1927, the son of Andrew and Esther (Tschetter) Glanzer. His family moved to Hillside Colony near Doland in 1961 where he had served as Hog Farm Manager and most recently as Chicken Manager. He said after a Doctor's visit in recent years, "If I knew I could walk this good again, you would have never gotten me out of the chicken barn!" He enjoyed friends and family stopping by for visits and had a special song he enjoyed, "Fort, Fort Mein Herz Zum Himmel" Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Margaret, son, Michael, a brother, a sister, 6 brothers-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Grateful for having shared in his life are his children, Walter (Rebekka) Glanzer of Hillside Colony, Levi (Patricia) Glanzer of Dilworth, MN, Harry (Esther) Glanzer, John (Kathryn) Glanzer, Esther, Eva & Betty Glanzer all of Hillside Colony . He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Andrew (Rachael) Glanzer and David (Susie) Glanzer all of Hillside Colony, 2 sisters, Rebecca of Hillside Colony, Susie (Andrew) Gross of Claremont and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services and burial will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Hillside Colony near Doland. Public visitation begins at 4PM today, Friday, August 15, 2014 in the Glanzer home at Hillside Colony.
