Patrick "Pat" Patenode

Patrick Allen Patenode went to his Heavenly home on February 3 ^rd , 2022 surrounded by his family.

Patrick "Pat" Patenode was born on November 14 ^th , 1955 in Denver, Colorado to Lawrence Bernard Patenode and Claudia Ann Brewer.  He was raised in Spearfish, SD and graduated from Spearfish High School in 1974. He served in the Army in the 194 ^th Field Artillery from 1978 to 1981. In his years of service in the United States Army he was stationed in Nuremberg Germany guarding the Czech-Germany boarder. He spent some time in Texas working on the off shore oil rigs before settling in Canton, SD where he met and married Cynthia Sue Hitzemann in 1984. They welcomed two daughters Katy Ann Patenode (1984) and Suzann Lacy Patenode (1986). They lived on a farm outside of Canton, SD where Pat was a pipe fitter until Cynthia's untimely passing. He met and married Mary Sue Adams in 1989 and then became the father to Brandy Nichole Boykin (1983) and Christina Leigh Boykin (1986).  They then welcomed a son, Shane Patrick Patenode (1989) completing their family. Over the years he lived throughout South Dakota before finally settling in Clark, SD in 1998. This is where he opened Whitetail Plumbing and Construction. Pat was a man of many trades and talents including pipe fitter, fishing guide, plumber, horse tamer, trapper, handyman and bus driver. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his many grandchildren and loving family. He spent his last days surrounded by the ones he loved the most sharing the love of Jesus Christ with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Patenode and Claudia Brewer, brothers, Kenneth Patenode and David Patenode and his late wife, Cynthia Sue Patenode.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Patenode (Clark, SD) and brothers Robert Patenode (Roseburg, OR), Carl (Diane) Patenode (Drain, OR), Larry (Cheryl) Patenode (Johnstown, CO), sisters Rose (Fred) Raczykowski (Lyle, WA) and Shawna (Mike) Johnson (Slayton, MN), daughters Jessica (Scotty) Walters (Noxapater, MS), Brandy (Jimmie) Mora (Clark, SD), Katy (Tyrone) Emboden (Clark, SD), Christina Boykin (Clark, SD), Suzann (Jordan Sullivan) Patenode (Sioux Falls, SD), son Shane (Heather) Patenode (Raymond, SD), 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren whom he adored.

FAMILY DIRECTED:

Memorial visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11th at Clark Assembly of God, 207 N Dakota St in Clark, SD. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12th, at Clark Assembly of God, 207 N Dakota St in Clark, SD with Military Rights and a Luncheon to follow.
