Patricia A Bailey

Patricia "Pat" Bailey, age 71 of Clark. She died in a Clark care center on Thursday morning after a long illness. She was the widow of Harry Bailey and Don Herman. Funeral services will held on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 1PM in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark with the Reverend Roger Semmler officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. Music will be provided by Dorothy Fuller as organist and Wendy Christman the soloist. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home and 2 hours prior to services Monday at the Church in Clark. She was born at Doland, SD, on February 4, 1933, the daughter of Floyd Everett and Marion A. (Hofma) Gereaux. She attended school in Doland graduating from the 8th grade as Salutatorian. In 1951 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Nordhus, to this union 2 children were born. On August 27, 1955 she married Donald L. Herman. In 1974, on January 12, she married Harry Bailey. While living in Clark, Pat has always been involved in the restaurant business. Some of the caf''s and people she worked for were Roger and Alice Smith starting in 1951, serving as manager and later owning the M & M Truck Stop Caf' and worked as a cook at the Clark Lanes. She also worked for various professional offices in Clark as a cleaning person. Some of her fondest moments were spent outdoors, in her flower garden, spending Holidays the family, second to none though was spending any moment with her grandchildren. She was baptized in the United Methodist Church at Doland and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark and a Church circle group. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Donald G. Herman and wife Diane of Watertown, Stephen C. Nordhus and wife Marcella of Farmington, NM, Cheryl Nordhus Roop of Mitchell, Kimberlee Wirkus and husband Tom, Dennis L. Herman, Daniel Paul Herman all of Clark and Jon Herman and wife Shelli of Sioux Falls, Harry's Children, Carol, Shirley, Fred, Janet, Gloria, Karen and Norman; 15 grandchildren, Deanna, Dory, Danice, Donnie, Emily, Stephanie, Stephen, Miriah, Shane, Scott, Sarah, Jason, Jennifer, Miranda and Becca; 13 great-grandchildren, Spence, Zach, Deklen, Jazmin, Tanner, Shelby, Haydn, Keeley, Jaren, Andrew, Dylan, Dawsyn and Jacksyn; Brothers, Larry Gereaux of Doland and Robert Gereaux and wife Elaine of Yankton, sisters, Delores Jones and husband Harry of Elma, WA, Beverly 'Pete' Kritz of Clark, Bonnie Guest of Benson, MN and Carol Fandrich of Bismarck, ND. Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, Donald L. Herman and Harry Bailey, a son, Timothy Jon Herman, grandson, Michael Jon Herman, brothers, David and Delvin Gereaux and brother-in-laws, Don Kritz and Dick Guest. Memorials would be preferred to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Sunday School program in memory of her son, Timothy Jon and grandson, Michael Jon.
