Orville J. Michalski 87, of Clark died Saturday, February 19, at the Beverly Healthcare Center in Clark. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, at 10:30AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Clark. The Rev. Bill Hamak will officiate and burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Clark. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7PM at the Furness Funeral Home with a scripture service at 7 PM. Orville was born on May 9, 1917 in rural Clark to Michael and Lena (Seefeldt) Michalski. He attended school through the eighth grade. On June 25, 1938 he was united in marriage with Edith Leila Heig in Clark. The couple lived in Minnesota for a short time before moving back to Clark County. The couple moved to their farm southwest of Clark in 1942. They farmed there until retirement in 1983 where they then built a home in Clark His wife preceded him in death on October 25, 1993. Orville continued to reside in his own home in Clark until his health failed and he entered an assisted living center in Clark. He had recently entered the Beverly Healthcare Center in Clark. His hobbies include: bowling, playing cards and square dancing with his wife. After retirement he continued to love working with his yard and flower beds; along with feeding and watching many birds. He is survived by his children: Virginia and husband Martyn Bialke of Champlin, MN; one son Robert and wife Sharon of Willow Lake, SD; and a son-in-law Dr. Harvey Spieker of Clark, SD; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also one sister Gloria Miller of Iroquois, SD. Also a special friend Marjorie Seefeldt. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter Karen Spieker; his parents, two sisters Sophie Kannegieter and Grace Busse, and one brother Sylvester Michalski.
