Odean (Ode) E Nesheim died August 31, 2015 surrounded by loved ones in Orange City, Florida at the age of 62.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 2-4PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark. Burial will be in the Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery near Vienna.
He was born February 20, 1953 the son of Melvin and Mavis (Ness) Nesheim in Watertown, SD. He attended schools in Clark, SD and graduated from Clark High School in 1971. He attended the University of South Dakota. He worked for Midwest Paint Services, traveling extensively throughout the Midwest. In 1979 he moved to Florida where he worked for Pools by Max from 1980 to 1993. Then in 1993 he became an independent contractor delivering medical supplies which he continued until his illness prevented him from doing his job.
In 1981 he married the love of his life Candyce Hixon. Family and friends remained very important to him throughout his life. He had a kind and generous heart and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed history and especially reading about the civil war. "Ode" was an avid collector who loved prowling thrift stores and flea markets for treasures . He was very good at starting projects and not finishing them, much to the amusement of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, David Hixon.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 34 years, Candy and his siblings, Gordon Nesheim of Clark, Sandy (Tom) Jones of Rapid City and David (Valorie) Nesheim of Watertown. He also leaves in laws Harry and Marion Hixon of Florida along with Harry and Rene Hixon III, Michael and Gail Hixon, Mary and Mike Moyer, Camille and Brad VanVoorst, Margaret Hixon and many nieces and nephews.
