Norma L Raines

Norma L. Raines, 93, of Raymond, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Clark. There will be no visitation or funeral services in South Dakota. Visitation will be held at West Funeral Home, 1051 South Robert Street West St. Paul, Minnesota on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 11 AM-12 PM with a graveside committal to follow at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Pallbearers will be Norma's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norma was born in Clark on April 5, 1919 to Pearl and Ethel (Davis) Burns. She was raised in the Elrod area and attended rural school there. Norma married Edward Raines in July of 1936 in Watertown. They moved to the Twin Cities in 1948. Edward died on January 20, 1987. Norma moved back to the Raymond area in 2008. Norma was a homemaker who enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and puzzles. Norma is survived by a daughter; JoAnn (James) Reis of Raymond, a son; Darrel (Mary) Raines of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, grandchildren; Barb (Gary) Schwery, Patti (Matt) Dillon, Jeff ( Patti) Reis and Randy (Carrie) Reis, great-grandchildren; D.J. Dillon, Tony Reis, Dana Dillon, Michael Schwery, Mackenzie (Todd) Ries, Austin Reis and Annemarie Schwery, great-great grandchild; Easton Ries. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, two sisters and three brothers.
