Myra "Mike" Hartley, age 78, long - time resident of Clark, was welcomed into heaven on November 10, 2015. She entered into heaven peacefully and pain free after a brief battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14 at 4:00 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Clark with the Reverend Randy Bader officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. There will be no public viewing or visitation. Friends and family are encouraged to join in celebration of Mike's life on the day of the funeral. Family is asked to meet at the church a half hour before the service. Honorary Pallbearers will be all those she worked for and worked with throughout her years as a Clark business woman. Active Pallbearers will be Christopher James Hartley, Cooper James Hartley, Braxton James Hartley, Taylor Lynn Hartley, David Clausen, and Renee O'Neill. She was born at Clark on February 6, 1937, the daughter of Hans and Hazel (Alter) Claussen. She spent her childhood on the farm enjoying life with her family. She attended primary school at Logan and graduated from Clark High School in 1955. On May 20, 1961 she was united in marriage to Gerald Hartley. While living in Clark she worked for Tillie Doyen at Doyen's Café and operated the "Hut" a local drive inn. This is where she began her career in Restaurant Management. In the late 1960's and throughout the 70's, she managed the Imperial Lounge, better known as the "Hill", on West Highway 212. In the 1980's, she purchased the White Warrior Lounge and renamed it Mike's Time Out. She owned and operated the business until her retirement in the early 2000's. Mike was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Clark. Myra was baptized in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Raymond and confirmed in the Peace Lutheran Church. She was an avid follower of the Minnesota Twins, and an admirer of Elvis Presley and his music. She was best known for her years serving and catering food to the public of Clark, her prime rib, outstanding recipes, and especially her salad dressings. She loved to spend time with Gerald at their trailer on Lake Oahe, trips to the casino, and supporting her grandkids by attending as many of their sporting events as possible. She could spend hours telling stories, socializing, and recalling the memories of her childhood experiences and precious family moments. Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband Gerald, a son Jerry "Sam" Hartley and wife Robin of Clark, a step daughter Mary Steffen and husband Mike of Watertown; Five grandchildren, Christopher, Cooper, Braxton, Taylor Hartley and Susan Steffen; one great grandchild, Tanner; sibling Betty Harper and husband Don of Watertown. Greeting Myra in Heaven are her parents, brothers Richard "Bud" Claussen and wife Fran and Roger "Butch" Claussen; sisters Helen Bowers and husband Reamer, Donna Clausen and husband Harold "Corky" and Alice Walsh and husband Frank. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated in her memory to the Clark Area Community Foundation. Please respect her wishes and the families wishes by giving to the foundation.
