Milo "Mike" Kolden

Milo Harold Kolden was born November 28, 1933 and passed away unexpectedly  on April 15, 2024,  doing what he loved: farming.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 pm at the Furness Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral.  Funeral services will be Monday, April 22, 2024 at 10:30 am at the Plymouth Congregational Church with Pastor Fawn Lamb officiating.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Lunch will follow at the church fellowship hall. The funeral will be livestreamed and able to be viewed at the time of service of the Furness Funeral Home Facebook page.

Milo "Mike" was born to Agnes (Steen) and Magnes Kolden at their farmhouse. He joined three brothers and a sister Arlo, Merle, Mavis, and Lee. He enjoyed speaking the Norwegian language with them as much as he could up until when Merle passed in 2019.

He enlisted in the army airborne when he was 20 years old. He specialized in radio operator and telecommunications. He was stationed in Germany. What makes him most proud is realizing the United States of America is the best place to call home.

When he married Janice (Murray) Kolden in 1958, the best days of his life started. Together they had Lorie, Cherie, Gary and Connie. He was so proud of them. He would call them almost nightly and start the conversation by "yeah Cherie..yeah Connie…yeah... Lorie" I think each of them kept their landline phone for that reason.

Milo spent most of his days instilling his love for farming and Oliver tractors in his son Gary. Up until passing, Milo made the same 16 mile trip to the farm fiddling around with whatever he could to just simply be on the farm. It brought comfort to all knowing he had made that drive "home" one last time to be with his Lord and Savior.

When he wasn't on the farm, you would find him sitting on his chair watching Fox News while eating his homemade famous (to him) cabbage soup. He appreciated his granddaughter Krysta's green thumb for planting those "big delicious" cabbages. Milo had a great love for his country and strong admiration for the Republican Party.

Later 16 grandchildren came, they brought the most joy to his life. He was involved with each of his grandchildren, often calling them to talk. The memories he made with each of us will hold such a special place in our hearts. He meant so much to us and we are all so blessed to have had him for as long as we did. With all of his children living in a 30 mile radius, the family gathered often. The memories are endless.

Above all Milo had a great love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Milo left behind some special people including his four children, Lorie (Brad), Cherie (Rod), Gary (Betsy), Connie (Aaron), his eleven grandsons: Josh, Jeremy, Jared (Angela), Justin (Ashley), Jeff (Mel), Corey (Jessica), Taylor, Seth (Kamelia), Torrey (Erica), Chad and Heath. and his five granddaughters, Krysta (Travis), Cassi, Danrea (Justin), Kandace (Chris) and Janae (Koln) and his 20 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his in-laws Joanne Kolden, Lois and Wayne Heuer, and Richard and Varret Murray

He was greeted at heaven's gates by his wife Janice, grandson Adam, his parents, siblings, Arlo, Merle, Mavis, and Lee  and in laws, grandparents and his furry buddy, Jackson.
