Mike Parish, Watertown, age 66, died in the Sanford USD Medical Center at Sioux Falls on Monday morning, September 10, 2018.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the Hosanna Lutheran Church at Watertown.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1PM in the Hosanna Lutheran Church at Watertown with the Reverends Janine Rew-Werling and Craig Werling officiating. Music will be presented by Lynn Osthus. Honorary Casketbearers will be Mandley Davis, Chad Clausen, Chris Kemper, Jason Demming, Tim Lailim, and Chad Rudebusch. The urnbearer will be Julio "Jr" Esteves. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Watertown.
He was born Michael Parish on July 26, 1952 at Watertown, the son of Verdon and Lorraine (Gartzke) Parish. Mike attended school at Watertown graduating in 1970. Following graduation he spent a 2 year stint in Vietnam in the United States Army. Following discharge he returned to Watertown.
On July 12, 1975 he was united in marriage to Judy Clausen at Peace Lutheran Church at Clark. The couple lived at Clark where he worked for Clausen Construction as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He also worked at Whiskey River Cattle Co. In 1988 they moved to Watertown where they have lived since. Mike attended Lake Area Vo-Tech in the Marketing Department. He worked at Sandvigs and Twin City Die for a time and then returned to working for Clausen Construction. He retired some 4 years ago due to health reasons.
In his free time he enjoyed golfing, riding the motorcycle and watching NASCAR – especially his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Mike was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church at Watertown.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Kim Parish.
Survivors include his wife Judy of Watertown, a son, Dana (Colette) Parish and their son, Oliver, all of Phoenix, a daughter, Lindsay Parish (Julio Esteves, Sr.) and their son, Julio (Jr) Esteves all of Watertown. Also surviving is a sister, Vinceen (Ron) Hanson of Watertown, and a brother, Scott (Shelly) Parish of Surrey, ND.
