Obituary

Marylee Ann Framstad, age 79, of DeSmet, died at home on Friday, November 28, 2025, of an apparent heart attack.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Bryant.  A time of fellowship and light snacks will be provided at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryant following the graveside service.

Marylee Framstad was born on January 8, 1946, the daughter of Lee and Maryann (Kadinger) Peterson.  Marylee was raised on the farm near Willow Lake and attended school there.  Following school, she married Philip Framstad on December 28, 1963, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryant, and to this union two children were born: Tom and Jim.

Marylee enjoyed gardening, particularly flowers.  She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, especially taking the grandchildren for gator rides and taking the gator out with Jim to hunt rabbits.  Marylee also enjoyed going to coffee and visiting with friends while having pie.

Sharing in her life was her husband Philip (Phil) Framstad of rural DeSmet; two sons: Tom (Melissa) Framstad of DeSmet and Jim Framstad of rural DeSmet; three grandchildren: Mallory (Jacob) Knippling of Gann Valley, SD, Morgan (Spencer) Rostyne of Carthage, SD, and Kathryn Framstad of DeSmet; three great-grandsons: Gabriel Knippling, Levi Knippling, and Ryatt Rostyne; and several nieces and nephews.

Marylee is preceded in death by her husband Phil, parents, and in-laws Norman and Agnes Framstad.
