Mary Ann Hritz, age 78, of Watertown passed away peacefully in Prairie Lakes Hospital on Friday, July 10, 2020.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 2PM in the St. Martins Lutheran Church at Watertown with The Reverend Paul Janke officiating.  Burial will be in the Helgen Lutheran Cemetery at Florence.  Visitation will be held 1 hour preceding the memorial services in the Church. MASKS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

She was born Mary Ann Johannsen on April 27, 1942, in Omaha, NE, to Margaret (Palmer) and Francis Johannsen.

Mary Ann attended school in Waterloo and Schuyler, NE, and continued her education at the American College in Fayetteville, AK, for business. She worked at the VA Clinic in Fayetteville, AK, as a medical clerk and as a medical transcriptionist. She was also employed at the Bartron and Brown Clinic as a medical transcriptionist.

She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Mary Ann Hritz is survived by children, Leon (Melanie) Rowell, Barbara (Pat) Olson, Tammy (Merl) Hanson, Roger (Christy) Crook; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; fostered 66 children, 11 foster grandchildren, with great grandchildren as well; and siblings, Kay (Edward) Hollmann, Jeanne (Donald) Fendrick, and Jack Johansen (Julie).

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Wieneke; Robert Crook, Jerry Hritz, Ronald Rowell; 1 granddaughter; and 2 great granddaughters.
