Mary E. Hotzler, Clark, formerly of Bradley, the widow of Raymond Hotzler. She died on Saturday evening, February 12, 2005 at the Beverly Healthcare Center at Clark. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 11AM in the St. John's Lutheran Church at Bradley with Minister Marion Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie Hill Cemetery at Bradley. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel in Clark and 2 hours preceding services at the Church Wednesday. Music will be provided by Marvine Obermeier as organist. David and Carol Finstad will sing and Laura Alexander will provide a piano solo. Honorary casketbearers are grandchildren and great grandchildren, staff at Beverly Healthcare Center at Clark, Maurice Rick, Ralph Johnston, Lowell Gilbertson and Burton Raymer. Active casketbearers are Herb Calley, Charlie Abbel, Barry Hotzler, Larry Keyes, Ralph Peterson and John Dallman. She was born at Clark on November 24, 1909, the daughter of Ora and Minnie (Eggers) Darling. She attended school at Bradley. Later she moved to Burkmere, SD and then to Wallace, SD. On January 4, 1927 she was united in marriage to Raymond Hotzler at Wallace. They lived their entire married life in Bradley. While living in Bradley she worked as the town clerk for 12 years. Following Mr. Hotzlers death in 1981, she moved to Clark to be near her daughter, Joan Hilmoe. In June of 1999 she became a resident of the care center. She and her husband were charter members of the St. Johns Lutheran Church at Bradley where she was an honorary member of its womens group, the WELCA. While living in Bradley she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and also taught vacation bible school. Some of her fondest moments were spent in her flower and vegetable gardens. She will long be remembered for never forgetting a holiday meal being delivered to many single people in Bradley. She saw that they would be fed. Second to none though was her love of children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In recent years he enjoyed collecting angels. Grateful for having shared in her life is her daughter, Joan Hilmoe and husband Dick of Clark, grandchildren, Mari Jo Alexander and husband Dean of Henry, Kim Olson and husband Jeff of Clark and Dean Hilmoe of Clark, 7 great-grandchildren, Angie, Rick, Bryan, Erin, Becky, Jacob and Laura and a great-grandson Cole. She also leaves a sister, Hazel Brekke of Hingham, MT. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and siblings, Beulah, Pearl, Gladys, Dorothy and Emery.
