Marilyn Schieckoff, age 83, of Clark died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at a Clark nursing home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 20, at 11 AM at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church of Huron with Reverend Chris Navurskis officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM preceding the service. Burial will follow at the Onida Cemetery of Onida. The funeral services will also be livestreamed at https://www.mtcalvaryhuron.org/livestream.
Marilyn Marlys (Berg) Schieckoff was born December 1, 1936 at Selby, SD, to parents Caroline (Kalmbach) and Rudolph Charles Berg. They lived in Gettysburg where she attended the Gorman School. At the age of 11, the family moved to Onaka. Marilyn went to high school in Aberdeen until attending her senior year at Gettysburg High School where she graduated in 1956.
On September 8, 1956, she was united in marriage to Clifford Siegfried Schieckoff at the Onida Lutheran Church of Onida. They lived in Aberdeen for a short while before moving to the family farm east of Onida. While in Onida, they were members of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she also served as a Sunday School teacher. In 1977, the family moved to Huron where they became members of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Marilyn went to work at Raven Industries and later worked at Leisure Tech., Wilbrecht and Midcom.
In her free time, Marilyn enjoyed reading, baking (she made the best chocolate chip cookies!), cleaning, camping with the Huron Rovers Camping Club, and playing cards.
Grateful for sharing Marilyn's life are her husband, Clifford of Clark; children, Clinton Schieckoff of Henry and Vonda Hill of Huron; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Lemke of Huron; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Earl Berg.
