Maria Grosz

Maria Grosz, age 83, a resident of Silver Lake Colony near Clark, SD, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, January 16, 2023 after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January, 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Silver Lake. Burial will follow in the Silver Lake Colony Cemetery.

She was born on February 23, 1939 in Hanson County, Rockport Colony, near Mitchell, SD, the daughter of John and Katherina (Kleinsasser) Grosz. The family moved to Hillcrest Colony in 1978 and then to Silver Lake Colony in 2011.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her siblings: Benjamin (DeAnna) Grosz of Tucson, AZ, Gabriel (Sharon) Grosz of Madison, WI, Susie Waldner of Hillcrest Colony, John (Anna) Grosz of Silver Lake Colony, Paul (JoAnn) Grosz of Silver Lake Colony, Lydia Grosz of Silver Lake Colony, Josephine (Gordon) Wipf of Gracevale Colony near Winfred.

She also leaves a special care giver and friend, Lynda Stern of Garden City, SD.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers: John and Joseph, two sisters: Deborah and Rebecca, a brother in-law, Jake, two nieces: Sandra Waldner and Tammy Grosz, and one nephew: Dennis Wipf.
