Margaret L. Peterson, age 94, Webster, formerly of the Bradley area, widow of Mason Peterson, died in the Bethesda Care Center early Sunday morning, April 4, 2010. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with The Reverend Jan FitzGibbon officiating. The pianist will be Marvine Obermeier. Special music will be presented by Lacey Schlotte, soloist, accompanied by Elizabeth Mauersetter. Casketbearers will be Todd & Robert Mauersetter, Todd Peterson, Marty & Corey Schlotte and Paul Gollnick. Burial will follow in the Prairie Hill Cemetery at Bradley. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3-6 PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue after 9AM in the funeral home chapel. She was born at Garden City, SD, on October 18, 1915, the daughter of Thomas E. and Jane Ellen (Clyde) Stacey. She grew to adulthood in the Garden City area attending school for a time in Maydell Township. On June 2, 1935 she was united in marriage to Mason W. Peterson at Clark. In addition to living at Bradley and Lake Preston, the couple also lived in the Stratford and Webster area where they farmed and he worked for the railroad. Mr. Peterson died at Webster on March 25, 1960. After his death she went to work at the Bethesda Home in Webster in the kitchen and retired in the mid 1970s. Some of her favorite pastimes were spending time in the garden, canning, and painting of pillowcases. She will long be remembered for keeping a clean house and always wanting to look her best, taking much pride in the way she looked. Margaret also enjoyed reading the Guidepost magazine. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, daughter, Mary Lou Gollnick in 2008, 2 grandchildren, Tracy Peterson and a baby in infancy, siblings, John (Jean) Stacey, Ervin Stacey, Agnes (Melvin) Lyngbye, Doris (Wilbur) Peterson, Maxine (Harold Fordy) Hughes, brothers-in-law, Ole Vik and Ed Bergan. Survivors include a son, Ralph (Mary Lou) Peterson of Aberdeen, son-in-law, Jim Gollnick of Webster, 4 grandchildren, Todd (Cassie) Peterson, Paulette (Todd) Mauersetter, Paul Gollnick and Beth (Marty) Schlotte and 4 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth & Robert Mauersetter and Lacey and Corey Schlotte. She also leaves siblings, Francis Red (Lois) Stacey of Bradley, Russell Bud (Dorothy) Stacey of Madison, SD, Dorothy Vik of Doland, Mary Bergan and Ida(Charles) Lundholm both of Madison, SD and a host of nieces and nephews.
