Margaret Fister, age 91, Clark, widow of Milo Fister, died in the Golden Living Center at Lake Norden on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 5-7 PM with a Liturgical Wake/Rosary Service at 7PM at in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with The Reverend John Short officiating. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11AM in the St. Michael's Catholic Church at Clark with burial in the St. Boniface Cemetery at Clark. The Reverend John Short will officiate. Casketbearers will be her nephews. She was born Margaret Lorenz on May 10, 1922 at Garden City, the daughter of Ernest Eugene and Ida C. (Curtice) Lorenz. She attended country school and then Clark High School, graduating in 1942. She worked for a brief time for the Clark County Extension agent before entering the United States Army in November of 1943 and served her country honorably until being discharged in March of 1945. She was united in marriage to Milo Wayne Fister. They had an adopted son, Michael. The couple lived in various places including Arizona. In late 2002 they moved to Watertown to be closer to family. Milo died in December of 2003. Margaret continued living in Watertown until becoming a resident of the Roetell Senior Living Center at Clark and in June of 2011 becoming a resident of the Golden Living Center at Lake Norden. She was a member of the Catholic faith and also the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, siblings, Evelyn (Robert) Stenzel and Philip Lorenz and a brother-in-law, Harold Riter. Survivors include a son, Michael and siblings, James R. (Adeline) Lorenz of Wells, MN, Frances Riter of Rapid City, Theodore (Shirley) Lorenz of Sioux Falls, Don (Angie) Lorenz of Aberdeen and Wilma Bull of Watertown, a sister-in-law, Jeanette Lorenz of Alden, MN and several nieces and nephews.
