Margaret Nadine Edwards

Margaret N. Edwards, age 84, Clark, formerly of Doland, the widow of George F. Edwards, died peacefully in the Prairie Lakes Hospital at Watertown with family at her side on Sunday, March 16, 2014 after a 60 year, courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday March 30, 2014 from 3-5 PM at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel in Clark. Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the Doland United Methodist Church with The Reverend Kris Larson officiating. The organist will be Deb Schroeder with Judy Mayer providing special music. Kerry & Scott Wicks will also provide special music. A DVD tribute has been made by Great-Granddaughter, Brittany Lovelace with music by Kerry & Scott Wicks and Yvonne Wicks Taylor, that will be played prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date. She was born Margaret Nadine Olson at Arlington, SD, on April 20, 1929, the daughter of Kenneth and Florence (Larson) Olson. She was schooled at Arlington for a bit then the family moved to the Willow Lake community where she attended and graduated co-salutatorian from Willow Lake High School in 1947. On November 1, 1947 she was united in marriage to George F. Edwards at Huron. The couple lived and farmed near Doland. To this union two daughters were born, Karen and Marilyn. In 1954 she was diagnosed with MS. The couple lived at Doland raising their family. Margaret enjoyed baking, canning, especially making jam - favorites were chokecherry and plum! Her husband suddenly died in August of 1990 and Margaret moved into the Clark Care Center, now known as the Golden Living Center. She has lived there since that time. While living in the care center, Margaret volunteered with many activities and received numerous awards for her help. She loved to play bingo, watch soap operas and drink FRESH HOT coffee, with as you can see an emphasis on fresh and hot! Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, sisters Phyllis and Leatrice Olson and Beverly Zapp. Grateful for having shared in her life are her daughters, Karen (Roy Jr) Boe of Claremont, SD and Marilyn (Jim) Lovelace of Doland, 3 sisters, Kathryn Wicks of Carpenter, Barbara Hasche of Lake Preston and Jan Eidsness of Broomfield, CO., 2 brothers, Ken Olson of Sioux Falls and Richard Olson of Aurora, CO. She also leaves grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Nuttall, Meredith Lovelace all of Doland, Amber (Kam) Schulz of Aberdeen, Sara (Brad) Tople of Phoenix, AZ and Mark (Mandy) Boe of Claremont and 13 great-grandchildren, Madison, Mitchell, Miranda, and Morgan Nuttall, Brittany and Bridget Lovelace, Hunter and Dylan Schulz, Noah, Anna, Jonah and Micah Tople and Braden Boe.
