Margaret Cooper, age 96, Clark, died in a Clark care center on April 28, 2017. She is the Mother of Christine Hasler of Clark.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue after 9AM at the Church the morning of the Mass.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Michael's Catholic Church at Clark on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 10:30 AM with The Reverend Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery at Clark.
She was born Margaret T. Culliton on August 15, 1920 at Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of William and Christina (Murphy) Culliton. Margaret grew up in Brooklyn where she also attended school.
On May 17, 1942 she was united in marriage to William C. Cooper in Brooklyn. Margaret worked in sales, selling drapery in Brooklyn.
In 1972 they retired and moved to South Hampton, NJ. Her husband died in 1980. She continued living there until moving to South Dakota a few years ago and became a resident of the Roetell Senior Living Center at Clark to be near her daughter and family. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Daisy) Cooper of Florida and Christine Hasler of Clark; five grandchildren, Andrew Cooper, William Holmes, George (Dani) Holmes, Darren (Amy) Cooper, and Robert Cooper, and 3 great-grandchildren, Correana and Caitlyn Anderson and Ethan Cooper.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, William, a granddaughter, Laura Holmes, and siblings, Ed, William, and John Culliton, and Mary Ryan.
