Luella Logan

Luella Logan, age 94, of Clark, SD, died at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Furness Funeral Home in Clark. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 11 AM at the United Methodist Church of Clark with Pastor Rob Salmonson officiating. Private burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Luella Ann (Tigner) Logan was born on August 8, 1929 at her home in Faulkton, SD to Richard and Alma (Baughman) Tigner. They moved to Watertown, SD, where Luella went to school from first through fourth grade and then they moved to Clark, SD where Luella went to school from the fifth grade until graduating from high school in 1947. She spent her summers doing house work and hauling and picking potatoes.

She was a cashier at J.C. Penny's after graduation. On September 30, 1947, Luella married Byrl W. Logan in the First United Methodist Church in Watertown, SD. To this union, they had four children; Ronald Douglas, Yvonne Darlene, Cynthia Deanne, and Sandra Denise. They moved to the farm in Logan Township in 1950 and lived there until 1967 when they moved into a new home in Clark. Luella worked for 30 years at ASCS until retiring in 1984. Byrl died in 2015 and in 2019, she became a resident of Wookey's Assisted Living Center.

Byrl and Luella enjoyed countless hours of square dancing. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter, making many quilts for family members. She was a Member of the United Methodist Church and Mary Circle.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alph and Lina Baughman, Henry and Luthera Tigner, her parents, Richard and Alma Tigner, her husband, Byrl, her daughter, Cynthia Voas, sister, Jean Ludwig, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew Steve Olson.

She is survived by her children, Doug (Debbi) Logan of Camillus, NY, Yvonne Logan of Watertown, SD, and Sandra (Jay) Wano of Latrobe, PA, a son-in-law, Raleigh (Rebecca) Voas of Fort Collins, CO, 9 grandchildren; Joshua Voas, Angela Combs, Rebecca Bowsher, Nickie Handley, Rachel Logan, Jessica Joanis, Aaron Wano, Daniel Wano, Jenell Huska, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a sister, Mary Olson, sister-in-law, Lorrayne Logan and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Wookey's Assisted Living Center or to the Clark United Methodist Church.
